Former Minister of Sports and Youth Development, Solomon Dalung, has voiced strong criticism against President Bola Tinubu and his administration. Dalung accuses Tinubu and his 'locust cabal' of being more interested in Nigeria's wealth than in its welfare. He also rebuked presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga for claiming that the proposed nationwide protests are intended to destabilize the country.

In a post on his X handle, Dalung said, "Make no mistake about it, we love our country but @officialABAT and his locust cabal love only the wealth of Nigeria." He further explained that the protests are a way to demand accountability from those who are destroying Nigeria's common heritage.

Dalung highlighted the disparity between the Nigerian populace and those in power, stating that while Nigerians have nowhere else to go, the elite have safe havens in Europe and North America. He condemned Onanuga's comments as wicked, noting that the current generation demanding good governance is more entitled to Nigeria than the current power holders.

Dalung concluded by asserting that the only way to avoid the protests is for President Tinubu and his administration to meet the people's demands. He dismissed fears of the protests leading to anarchy as mere excuses to avoid accountability.
