NCC Debuts Special Consumer Advocacy; "Shine Your Eyes, No Fall Mugu" In Benin

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) on Thursday, launched its consumer advocacy outreach programme in Benin.

The NCC which is committed to reach all categories of telecom consumers, tagged the outreach programme; "Shine your eyes, no fall mugu", which literally translates to, "Be alert, Don't be a victim of fraudsters".

The outreach programme usually conveyed in Pidgin English, is an initiative of the NCC's Consumer Affairs Bureau (CAB), intended for a segment of telecom consumer population who are more comfortable with localized communication that resonates with their reality.

The Commission used the two days outreach to create awareness and sensitize telecom consumers on cybercriminals who uses telecom platforms to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.
