NCC: Sale, Installation, Usage Of Network Boosters Is Illegal-NCC Warns | READ DETAILS

The Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC), have warned against the sale, installation, and usage of GSM boosters .

This was contained in a statement signed by the Director, Public Affairs, NCC, Dr Ikechukwu Adinde tagged; PRE-ENFORCEMENT TO UNAUTHORISED DEALERS AND USERS OF GSM (NETWORK) BOOSTERS .

The notice warns the general public, particularly banks and other financial institutions, government agencies, telecommunications service providers, private and public companies, and owners of residential premises, that it is a criminal offence to sell, install or use any equipment which may hinder network operations or which has not been approved by the NCC.
NCC says such acts may lead to monetary sanctions, imprisonment or both, as well as confiscation of any equipment used in the illegal enhancement of network coverage.

The Commission gave a 14-day pre-enforcement notice to individuals involved in the act to desist or face the consequences.
