NCDC, Delta Govt Disagrees on COVID-19 Cases in the State

There is variation in the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Delta State going by figures released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and the Delta State Government on the 30th of May 2020.

The Delta State Government had confirmed 17 new cases of COVID-19 via it"s verified twitter handle bringing the tally to 74 while NCDC confirmed 23 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday 30, 2020.

According to the NCDC, confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Delta state are 80, while the state government record chart is showing 74 confirmed cases.According to the the record of state government which differs from that of the NCDC , there are 51 active cases in Delta with 16 discharged and seven deaths.

However at the time of filing this report effort to get authorities of the Delta COVID -19 team to explain this discrepancy proved abortive .
