Teenage star Rio Ngumoha etched his name into Liverpool history against Newcastle, with the excited club giving the Nigerian prospect a new identity at Anfield.
Liverpool's teenage sensation Rio Ngumoha has stamped his name into Anfield history books after a dramatic late winner against Newcastle United on Monday night.

The Premier League champions secured a thrilling 3-2 victory at St James' Park thanks to the 16-year-old Nigeria Super Eagles prospect's decisive goal deep into injury time.
The Reds started nervously but took the lead thanks to Ryan Gravenberch's strike. However, the game took a dramatic turn just before halftime when Liverpool's Anthony Gordon was shown a straight red card for a serious foul on defender Virgil van Dijk.

Despite being down to ten men, Newcastle looked the better team until Liverpool doubled their lead early in the second half through Ekitike, who finished off a precise pass from Gakpo.

Newcastle refused to back down and pulled one back via Bruno Guimaraes in the 57th minute and then leveled the score in the 90th minute through substitute Asula, another Nigeria-eligible star.

With the momentum seemingly in Newcastle's favour, Liverpool weathered heavy pressure in injury time. Then, in the 90+10 minute, 16-year-old Ngumoha delivered the winner, sparking wild celebrations among Liverpool fans and teammates.

Liverpool quickly hailed the young Super Eagles-eligible star's heroics on social media, giving him a new nickname to celebrate the moment.
