COUP: Nigeria Govt Stops Electricity Power Supply To Niger Republic | READ MORE
As part of measures by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), to put an end to the coup currently in Niger Republic, the Federal Government of Nigeria has stopped 150 Megawatts of daily electricity supply to the Republic.

The disconnection was effected by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), on Tuesday night, August 1, 2023.

Recall that a military junta sacked Niger's democratically elected president, Mohamed Bazoum and took over governance.
According to an anonymous source in TCN;
"It is true Niger was disconnected from the national grid last night based on the instruction of the government. Nigeria used to supply 150 megawatts, MW of power to Niger.
"It is total disconnection in line with ECOWAS moves to restore democracy in that country."

Niger enjoys 24 hours per day power supply which 70% is generated to them from the Kainji Dam in Nigeria.
