NIGERIAN ARMY INTERCEPT ARMED POLITICAL THUGS IN UMUEKA

The Nigerian Army at a military checkpoint at Umuikaa, Isiala Ngwa Sorth Local Government Area of Abia State, have intercepted some political thugs alleged to have been found with arms, dangerous weapons and charms in their possession.
The boys who were yesterday arrested on their way to Aba, had boarded a Sienna car at Umuahia park enroute Aba. On getting to the army checkpoint , the army officer on duty at the checkpoint requested to know the content of the bag being carried by one of them. When the boy refused to release the bag to the army officer for search, an argument ensued between the him and the soldier on duty which drew the attention of the other soldiers on duty and heightened the suspicion of the officers who ordered the driver of the vehicle to pack properly for a thorough search.
According to our correspondent who witnessed the incident, on opening the said bag, three medium sized rifles and other dangerous weapons which includes axes, knife and charms were found and three of the boys were arrested and detained at the Forward Operation Base of the army officers for further interrogation.
On further interrogation, the boys confessed that they were hired thugs from Bayelsa who came into Umuahia for the botched Saturday Presidential and National Assembly election, but refused to reveal the identity of the particular politician on whose auspices they came.
