NSCDC Abia Command Parades Kidnap Suspects, Pipeline Vandals |PHOTOS

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Abia State command on Thursday, 24th December 2020 paraded six suspects who were arrested at different times and locations within the state for their involvement in Kidnapping, Vandalism of national assets & infrastructures of government and illegal dealing on petroleum product.

The suspects who were identified as Tochi Moses (M) 38 yrs a kidnap suspect was said to have been arrested by men of the NSCDC upon receiving a petition on 20th December, 2020 at Mbutu Nta, Osisioma Ngwa LGA Abia State.

The suspect's premises was thereafter searched and this revealed his involvement in petroleum pipeline Vandalism, though he denied having any knowledge of what the items found in his house was been used for, he claimed they belonged to some persons whom he recently met in Port Harcourt.

The other suspects John Nnamani (M) 29 yrs, Christopher Ike (M) 48 yrs and Charles Uguanyi (M) 35yrs, Elvis Charles (M) 40 yrs, Ijeoma Oyema (F) 39 yrs were all arrested by men of the force for their involvement in dealing on adulterated petroleum products.

Despite being arrested at different locations a total of 1250 litres of adulterated petroleum products (DPK and AGO) was recovered alongside a truck with registration number GGU204X8 and another 1200 litres of AGO in two passenger cars (Toyota Camry) with registration numbers URU 415 AA & AE 142 APR.

While speaking to news men, the commandant Mr Vincent OGU (JP) assured the public that the command is committed to providing a hitch free holiday celebration and also places priority on protecting the government infrastructures available in the state.

He thanked the general public for their continued support by providing useful and timely information on illegal activities and appealed that more is needed to create a safer and an increasingly secured community.
