Obingwa Guber Result Should Not Exceed Number Of Accredited Voters - Abia YPP Chairman Tells INEC
The Abia State Chairman of the Young Progressive Party (YPP), Honourable Nelcinn Uluocha, has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to stand by it's word and review all electoral materials including BIVAS used for the governorship election in Obingwa Local Government Area of the state.

Honourable Nelcinn while speaking to newsmen in Umuahia on Tuesday, following INEC's resolve to review Obingwa election result, stated that election in Obingwa did not meet the required standard of a peaceful electoral process as it was laced with violence, thuggery and mutilation of election results.

He explained that the number of accredited voters for the State House of Assembly election in Obingwa LGA, should correspond with that of the governorship election as both elections held on the same day (March 18, 2023).

"Election in Obingwa did not meet the required standard. Violence, thuggery and mutilation of election results were recorded.

"This is where we have had collation of fictitious figures against the number of accredited voters on the BIVAS".
"I charge INEC to stand by their words and review all election materials from Obingwa and BIVAS most especially where the number of accredited voters for the State House of Assembly is not the same with the governorship election. No accreditation was done twice or differently "

We have seen results where the accreditation for State House of Assembly is totaling around 27, 000 accredited voters . All results of Obingwa must not exceed the total votes of accreditation for the state house of assembly that has already been declared" Nelcinn charged.

He queried why INEC should move the Abia state collation officers to Abuja against what the Commission had promised on Monday.

"This morning (Tuesday) to our surprise, we got to INEC office and we were told that the INEC staff involved in the collation have been moved to Abuja which was against the earlier plan.
"we urge INEC to stand on their words and nothing should affect the democracy of Abians and what the Obingwa voters has done. Be transparent and immediately address the situation on ground so that Abians will know what is left" the YPP State chairman added.

INEC had on Monday, said it will send a team with it's National Commissioner from Abuja to Abia state to review the Obingwa LGA result which has generated controversies.
Meanwhile, INEC Abia state has declared governorship election results from sixteen local government areas of the state. However, the final declaration of the winner of the governorship election is pending until Obingwa's result is reviewed.
