OCHENDO AT 70: Ikpeazu Rejoices With His Immediate Predecessor

Governor Ikpeazu describes Senator Orji as an embodiment of the public service, an excellent administrator, a great Nigerian and a tested political tactician.

Describing the Senator's 70 years on earth as "eventful and action packed", Governor Ikpeazu recalls that Senator TA served in the Civil Service of the old Imo State and later, Abia and rose to the rank of Permanent Secretary before he retired meritoriously.

"As he prepared for a quiet life in retirement, little did he realize that fate was just starting with him, and between 1999 till date, he has played very key roles in the leadership of our state, the climax of which was his 8 year tenure as Governor of Abia State". Ikpeazu added.

"As Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria", Ikpeazu continues, Senator Orji has brought his long administrative and political experience to bear in his quiet but very effective legislative interventions which has continued to manifest in robust contributions on the floor of the Senate, annual scholarship awards, rural electrification projects and many others for the people of Abia Central District".

"Master of political equity and fairness, Senator Orji's place in the political history of Abia State is assured on account of his insistence that the Abia Charter of Equity is implemented to the fullest. This has ensured that as at date, all the three Senatorial Districts in the State have had the opportunity to produce the Governor of the State".

Governor Ikpeazu is thankful to God for sustaining the life of Senator Orji and prays God for more years in excellent health and strenght.

Governor Ikpeazu assures Senator Orji that his experience and wise counsel will continue to serve as a guiding light for present and future leaders in the State.
