Odili's Home Invasion: Senate Roars, Gives Fresh Directives To The IGP | READ FULL

The Senate on Tuesday urged the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, to publish the outcome of his investigation into the invasion of the Abuja residence of a Justice of the Supreme Court, Justice Mary Odili.

Security operatives had on October 29 invaded the residence of the justice, an action seen by many as an affront on the judiciary arm of government.

The police boss said had has ordered an investigation into the raid.

The Senate condemned the invasion and commended the IGP for making arrests and constituting a panel to investigate the raid on the justice residence.

The resolutions followed a point of order raised by Senator Betty Apiafi (PDP, Rivers West) who had expressed concern that eleven days after the invasion, detail of the arrest by the Police were still sketchy.

Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, who chairs the Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters, said no member of the upper chamber "was at ease hearing the news of what happened.ÔÇØ
