Ofuji Empowerment Success Story: Abia Cobbler Returns with Gratitude After Four Years

Four years after receiving life-changing support, an Abia-based female shoe cobbler, Ugonna Chinyere Favour, has returned with heartfelt gratitude to businessman, philanthropist, and politician, Dr Chima Anyaso, popularly known as Ofuji.

Chinyere took to her Facebook page recently to narrate how Anyaso's intervention provided her with the foundation she needed to establish her shoe-making business. According to her, at a time when she was struggling to survive, the Ofuji Foundation stepped in and empowered her with essential start-up tools, which transformed her craft and gave her the platform to become self-reliant.

The items she received included a pressing machine, a 3,000-watt generator, shoe laces, an electric cutting machine, a sewing machine, bond gum, a strong wooden table and stool, different sizes of scissors, and hammers. These tools, she explained, became the backbone of her workshop, helping her build a stable business and attract a growing clientele.

Her testimony is only one out of countless empowerment success stories tied to Anyaso's philanthropic activities across Abia State. Popularly admired for his grassroots empowerment initiatives, Ofuji has consistently invested in artisans, women entrepreneurs, and youths, providing them with practical tools to start and grow businesses.
