OMEREKPE OFFER SOLUTION TO NIGERIA LEADERSHIP CRISIS

Character education has been identified as the panacea to the lingering leadership crisis in Nigeria. This submission was made in Okpuala Ngwa, the Isiala Ngwa North Council Headquarters during a one day character moulding and capacity building lecture for students in secondary schools in Abia state as organized by Advocates for Global Peace Forum International in support of the United Nations Charter for Human Rights and sponsored by Ncheta Omerekpe Foundation in conjunction with Isiala Ngwa North LGA, Abia State.

Speaking during the lecture titled 'Character education', Mr. Gabriel Ologba and Ola Olanikpekun described character education as all about duties and not the pursuit of personal desires, rather towards teaching the younger generation to live up to their good moral duties and obligations, build healthy relationships among families in order to make positive contributions to the society and become good leaders with good moral behavior that will impact positively to the Nation at large.

In her contribution, the Abia State Director, National Orientation Agency, Lady Ngozi Okechukwu admonished the students on good moral upbringing and the benefits of being worthy and ambassadors of truth, while urging them to take precautionary measures at their character content and exhibit exemplary behavior worthy of emulation, reminding them of the federal government programme - change begins with me.

Earlier in his opening remarks while welcoming the guests, Chairman of Isiala Ngwa North L.G.A, Hon. Chimezie Okoronkwo, flanked by his Deputy Hon.

Chibunna Okebugwu thanked the visitors for coming to Isiala Ngwa North and deeming if feet as the anchor Local Government for the advocacy lecture. He described the people of Isiala Ngwa North as peaceful and a home for respected and literate people that include amongst others; Late Sen.

Jaja Anucha Nwachukwu, Chief Paul Ogwuma and the rave making international acclaimed HIV research genius, Prof. Maduke Esiaba.

Hon. Okoronkwo submitted that Isiala Ngwa North has grown bigger but rather selfishly and described the sponsor of the programme, Chief Ncheta Omerekpe as "The light of our daysÔÇØ in reference to his numerous humanitarian services and selfless developmental strides.

In their reactions, Elder G. O. C. Nnaji, Hon. Nnamdi Okogbue and Prince Clinton Uba praised the high moral value of the lecture and thanked Chief Omerekpe for bringing the peace and character education advocates to Abia State.

In his response, the founder/BOT Chairman, Ncheta Omerekpe Foundation, Mr. Ncheta Omerekpe thanked the team, Advocates for Global Peace Forum International on the lecture, leveraging on the United Nations Charter for Human Rights and commended the Chairman of Isiala Ngwa North LGA, Hon. Cimezie Okoronkwo on his unalloyed support towards the success of the event.
