The Online Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria (OMPAN), Abia State Chapter, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Dame Peace Onyekwulechi Igbokwe, beloved mother of entertainment icon and philanthropist, Mayor Lucky Igbokwe (Don Lulu), who passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at the age of 60.
In a heartfelt condolence message jointly signed by OMPAN Chairman, Chief Promise Uzoma Okoro, and General Secretary, Dr. Steve Unegbu, the association described the passing of Dame Igbokwe as a painful and irreparable loss - not only to the Igbokwe family but also to Umuawa Alaocha community in Umuahia North LGA, and indeed the entire Abia State.

OMPAN members noted that Dame Igbokwe was a woman of virtue, compassion, and discipline who raised children that have continued to contribute immensely to community development and youth empowerment.

"Her exit is a huge loss to all who knew her. We sincerely identify with Chief Don Lulu and his siblings during this difficult time. We pray that God will grant them the strength to bear this great loss,ÔÇØ the statement read.
The association urged the bereaved family to take solace in the fact that the late matriarch lived a good and purposeful life, touching many lives and leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and faith.

"Life is not measured by how long one lived, but by the impact made while alive,ÔÇØ OMPAN stated, adding that death remains an inevitable end that every mortal must answer at the appointed time.
The statement further called on Mayor Lucky Igbokwe and his family to remain strong and steadfast in faith, trusting that their late mother now rests peacefully in the bosom of the Lord.

OMPAN also reaffirmed its solidarity with Don Lulu, describing him as a visionary leader whose philanthropy and contributions to youth and media development continue to inspire many across Nigeria.
