The immediate past president of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, has opened up on his challenges in life, noting that one of them is leading "a country like Nigeria".

Buhari was quoted as saying this in a sallah message released on Tuesday by his media spokesperson, Garba Shehu.

In the message titled, 'Ex-President Buhari Salutes Muslims on Eid Ul Adha and Wishes Muslims Successful Hajj', Buhari noted that leadership is challengeing and it demands the maximum support of citizens.

He wished the Muslims happy Eid-El-Kabir celebration and prayed for the safe return of those on pilgrimage.

"Leading a country like Nigeria is one of the hardest challenges in life;
"Leadership is a challenging task that demands the sacrifices and support of the citizens" Buhari was quoted as saying.
