Onuigbo Lauds FG On Umuahia - Ikot Ekpene Road Project, Others | WATCH VIDEO \ SEE PHOTOS

Honorable Samuel Onuigbo, member representing the southeast on the Governing Board of the Northeast Development Commission (NEDC), has commended the federal government for the progress in Umuahia -Ikwuano -Ikot Ekpene Road reconstruction project.

Onuigbo gave the commendation during an interactive session with cross section of journalist in his house in Umuahia on Sunday 17th March 2024.

He said that the federal government deserved recognition and commendation for maintaining an admirable momentum in ensuring that projects are executed and ongoing.

Onuigbo, a former member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal Constituency, expressed satisfaction about the progress reports over the projects he facilitated.

He said: "The Umuahia -Ikwuano-Ikot Ekpene Federal Road that I facilitated is ongoing at a very good pace.

"Then, the road project from Anchingali through Umunwawa to Ubakala is also ongoing.

"They are even constructing a bridge across Imo River, and these were things that were destroyed during the civil war.

"That is why I am saying politics and electioneering are over and president Bola Tinubu- led government deserves commendation because these are projects awarded under president Muhammadu Buhari."

Onuigbo, who is the NEDC Committee chairman for security, Climate Change and special interventions, expressed gratitude to the Federal Government and Gov. Alex Otti for their commitments in the construction of a federal secretariat in Umuahia.

The chieftain of All Progressive Congress (APC) specifically praised Otti for providing quality leadership and paying compensation for economic crops to the secretariat's host community.

"It was the same compensation that I continued to ask the previous administration for over four years, but they failed to do so.

"In fact, that was what frustrated the Federal Government from commencing work," he said.
