Onyema Innocent, Air Peace Declares in Response to U.S. DOJ Allegations

Air Peace has refuted the latest charges against its CEO, Allen Onyema, and CFO, Ejiro Eghagha, from the U.S. Department of Justice, calling them mere allegations. The airline reassured the public that these legal battles will not affect its operations or commitment to excellence.

Air Peace has come forward to defend its Chairman and CEO, Allen Onyema, alongside the airline's Chief Finance and Admin Officer, Ejiro Eghagha, following fresh allegations by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ). The DOJ has accused Onyema of obstruction of justice, claiming he submitted false documents to halt an investigation into previous charges of bank fraud and money laundering. Eghagha also faces similar charges linked to an alleged scheme to obstruct justice.

The airline, in an official statement published on Sunday, described the allegations as "mere charges" that remain unproven in court. Air Peace emphasized that both Onyema and Eghagha are innocent until proven guilty and reaffirmed their full cooperation with legal proceedings in the United States.

Referring to earlier reports covered by All Facts Newspaper, the statement pointed out that these latest charges are an extension of a legal case that has spanned several years, originally involving accusations of financial misconduct against Onyema. The airline's management reassured the public that the charges have not affected its operations or commitment to safety, reliability, and top-tier service.

In its response, Air Peace reiterated Onyema's innocence, insisting that these allegations are unsubstantiated. "While the charges have been expanded, it is essential to emphasize that both Onyema and Eghagha remain innocent and these are mere allegations. The case is still in court,ÔÇØ the airline stated.

The airline's legal team, which has been actively engaged in the matter, remains confident that the truth will emerge through due process, and that Onyema and Eghagha will be exonerated. "Our CEO and co-defendant will be vindicated once the full facts are revealed," the statement added.
