In a compelling and inspiring address delivered at the public lecture commemorating the second anniversary of his administration, Governor Alex C. Otti, OFR, has once again captured the hearts of Ndi Abia, reaffirming his administration's unwavering commitment to transformation driven by knowledge and deliberate action.
Speaking at the JAAC Building Auditorium in Ogurube Layout, Umuahia, Governor Otti emphasized that the revolutionary changes witnessed in Abia State within the last two years were not accidental but the product of deep intellectual reflection and bold execution of ideas.

According to him, "Every great thing begins with an idea. Electricity, technology, and even societal transformation stem from the simple question: What if?ÔÇØ The Governor explained that the foundation of the "New AbiaÔÇØ is rooted in asking critical questions and acting courageously on the answers.

The lecture, themed "Transformation as the First Fruit of Knowledge,ÔÇØ featured distinguished economist and former Minister of Finance, Dr. Kalu Idika Kalu, as guest lecturer. Governor Otti commended Dr. Kalu for his honest and thought-provoking presentation, describing him as "a man who tells it as it is,ÔÇØ adding that the New Abia project is being built on truth, transparency, and inclusive governance.

The Governor further revealed that the event was not just ceremonial but a moment for self-evaluation, aimed at assessing achievements, learning from mistakes, and identifying new areas for improvement. He noted that governance is a dynamic process, and leaders must be open to feedback from the people.

Otti highlighted key achievements of his administration, including the full payment of salaries and pensions, massive road rehabilitation across the state, improved urban sanitation, and the restoration of dignity to public service. Citing the recently completed Port Harcourt Road in Aba, the Governor narrated how local residents, traders, and artisans organized a spontaneous carnival to celebrate the government's fulfillment of its promise - without any government funding. "It was the people's event,ÔÇØ he said with pride, underscoring the deep connection between government action and grassroots appreciation.

Looking ahead, Governor Otti expressed his commitment to institutionalizing reforms through legislation, having signed 18 new bills into law aimed at strengthening governance, unlocking economic potential, and enhancing administrative efficiency.
