(BREAKING): Gov. Otti Wins Again, As Appeal Court Dismisses Kano High Court Judgement | READ MORE
The Executive governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Otti has secured another victory as the appeal court sitting in Kano state, has dismissed the May 18 judgement given by Justice M.N. Yunusa of the Kano state Federal High Court, purportedly sacking Otti.

Giving ruling on Friday, the appeal court faulted the trial court's hasty determination of the suit even without joining necessary parties who were the actual target of the claims in the suit.

Th appellate court awarded one million naira (N1,000,000) cost against the plaintiff.

Recall that Justice M. N. Yunusa gave the judgement while ruling in a Suit (FHC/KN/CS/107/2023) filed by one Ibrahim Haruna Ibrahim seeking the disqualification of all elected candidates of Labour Party.

According to Ibrahim, the Labour Party candidates for the 2023 general election were nominated in a manner that is at variance with mandatory provisions of the Electoral Act 2022 as amended, which renders its participation in the general election of 2023 in Kano state and the rest of the 35 states of the federation including FCT, as null and void.

Following the judgement, counsel to governor Alex Otti, Lateef Fagbemi & Co.,Temitope Chambers had filed for a stay of execution and thereafter filed a 10 grounds of appeal.
