PDP Demands Withdrawal of Tinubu's Ambassadorial List Over Integrity Concerns | SEE DOCUMENT

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has issued a blistering condemnation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's newly released ambassadorial nominees, describing the list as "scandalous, embarrassing, and a clear reflection of the values of the nominator.ÔÇØ

In a strongly worded statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Ini Ememobong, the PDP accused the President of assembling a delegation of individuals who, according to the party, carry questionable reputations, public trust deficits, and records that do not align with Nigeria's diplomatic expectations.

According to the PDP, many Nigerians are "deeply appalled yet unsurprisedÔÇØ by the list, arguing that the calibre of nominees speaks volumes about the administration's standards after three years in office.

The party insists that the President's inability to identify and nominate reputable personalities "shows the frightening scarcity of excellence within his circle.ÔÇØ

A major flashpoint in the statement is the inclusion of former INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, whose tenure the PDP describes as marked by "flip-flops, undelivered promises, and actions that contributed to the controversial emergence of the current government.ÔÇØ

The party alleges that offering Yakubu an ambassadorial slot amounts to a "reward for failureÔÇØ and a possible signal to the new INEC leadership ahead of the 2027 elections.

The opposition party further warned that a nation's global respect is directly tied to the integrity of its envoys. Sending individuals with tarnished public profiles, PDP argues, could drag Nigeria into a period of diplomatic embarrassment.

The PDP has therefore demanded an immediate withdrawal of the entire list, insisting that only individuals with "impeccable democratic credentials and unquestionable moral standingÔÇØ should represent Nigeria abroad.
