PHOTOS: British High Commissioner Visits Senator Orji Kalu

The British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Her Excellency, Catriona Laing on Wednesday evening paid a courtesy visit to the former Governor of Abia state and current Chief Whip of the 9th Senate, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu at his Abuja residence.

Laing who arrived at Kalu's residence at precisely 6:15 pm was accompanied by the Political Counsellor, British High Commission, Mr Jonathan Bacon and Mr Stuart Gardner, 1st Secretary, Political.

Disclosing the reason for the visit, Laing expressed gratitude to the Chief Whip for his support to the activities of the high commission in Nigeria, she said that the visit is a cordial one to further strengthen the ties between both countries.

Earlier in his address shortly after exchanging pleasantries, Kalu thanked Catriona for the courtesy visit, the Abia North Senator also expressed his gratitude to the United Kingdom (UK) for securing the commitment of the G7 action plan to help save millions of lives from famine and humanitarian crises, including the facilitation of funds to assist victims of insurgency in the North East.

Senator Kalu later hosted the trio to a dinner reception, also present during the visit is the Minister of Labour and Employment,Dr. Chris Nwabueze Ngige.
