POLITICAL TENSl0N (ABIA): Bende Youths Write Gov. Ikpeazu, Call for resignation of Chief B. A Mmeregini

Political tension seems to be brewing in Bende Ward in Bende Local government area as Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) youths have passed a vote of no confidence on Chief B. A Mmeregini and called for his immediate retirement from active politics and PDP.

In a letter made available to AFNEWS, signed by over 50 youths from Bende ward and addressed to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, the youths revealed that Chief B. A Mmeregini and others have consistenetly set the party backwards and unless he is retired, the party will not achieve success in any election further.

The youths equally appreciated the governor for steps he took during the recent #EndSARS protest and urged him to listen to them for the sake of the parties future and also involvement of the youths in the development of the party and state.

They equally called on other wards in Bende LGA and Abia State to begin to think in this direction so that they can reposition the party for 2023 and the state in general.

Vote Of No Confidence On Chief B. A Mmeregini

Your Excellency, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu. We have decided to use the medium of this open letter to communicate to you concerning the activities of some party members which we believe is capable of destroying our great party ahead of the upcoming local government election and eventually in the 2023 general election .

Sir . We will not fail to appreciate the wisdom and maturity with which you deployed in handling the #EndSars protest across the state. It was an attestation to your fatherly disposition and divine wisdom which God bestowed on you .

Indeed, you are a leader who listens to his subject and who is willing to effect necessary changes across all boards that will bring in able minded capable and qualified youths to help you actualize your vision and plans for God's own state. While those who are tired and deserve to be rested is assisted to rest having successfully transferred the Barton of leadership to the youth .

One of such person whose activities if unstopped most certainly will constituent great difficult for our great party in forthcoming election is Chief B. A Mmeregini. His action and activities in People's Democratic Party PDP Bende Ward in Bende LGA is going out of hand and portray great danger ahead if unstopped.

B. A. Mmeregini and co are drawing the People's Democratic Party PDP in Bende Ward and Virtually in Bende LGA backwards and his activities will greatly have negative impact on the chances of the party ahead of the upcoming local government election in the state.

B. A. Nmeregini has through his actions made PDP a party which is not visible, not viable and not marketable to the youth who are the architect of election victories for the party.

We are therefore passing a vote of no confidence on Chief B. A. Nmeregini. We are also seeking for his resignation from active politics to enable the youth take centre stage in administration. We have able minded and qualified youths who will perform more Creditably if given the opportunity to serve

The statistics which is glaring before everyone of us is that if the party will move forward in Bende Ward and in Bende LGA , people like B. A. Nmeregini should and must leave the stage while fresh blood take over .

Our request is simple: Chief B. A Nmeregini should leave active politics. Let him stay as a stakeholder and provide advice as an elder statesman which will help the party better than unnecessarily interfering in activities damaging the reputation of the party.

We sincerely hope our request will be favourably considered as it is to the interest of the party not just in the ward but in Bende LGA at large. We remain committed party members and will do everything within our power to ensure victory for the party in all coming election.
