President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has given a major national security update, confirming the successful rescue of dozens of abducted citizens following coordinated operations across multiple states.

In an official statement on Tuesday, the President disclosed that all 38 worshippers abducted in Eruku, Kwara State were rescued after days of intensified efforts by security agencies. The rescue followed a wave of concern across the country after the victims were taken during a religious gathering.

Tinubu also announced the recovery of 51 out of the missing students abducted from a Catholic school in Niger State. The retrieval of the students marks what officials describe as a "major breakthroughÔÇØ in ongoing counter-kidnapping operations in the North-central region.

The President noted that he cancelled his scheduled trip to the G20 Summit in South Africa to personally coordinate nationwide security efforts, receive real-time briefings from frontline commanders, and ensure that operations remained relentless.

According to him, the mission to protect Nigerians remains non-negotiable.
