President Tinubu Set to Commission Landmark Road Projects in Aba on October 3

.... Governor Alex Otti welcomes President Bola Tinubu for historic visit as Abia showcases major infrastructure transformation in Aba

All is set in Abia State as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, will storm Aba on Friday, October 3, 2025, to commission some of the most strategic road projects completed under the administration of Governor Alex Chioma Otti, OFR.

The Abia State Government, in a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu, described the visit as historic, stressing that it demonstrates recognition of the far-reaching infrastructural transformation going on in the state under Governor Otti.

According to the statement, President Tinubu will formally commission the newly reconstructed Port Harcourt Road, Aba, a dual carriage road with three lanes on each side and modern drainage systems. Other projects lined up for commissioning include:

Ohanku Road
Ndoki Road
Ajiwe Street
Umuatako Road
Chief Nkoro Street and Spurs, Abayi, Aba
Gabriel Nwosu Street

The government further revealed that all the commissioned roads have been equipped with solar-powered floodlights, a standard feature that has now become synonymous with Governor Otti's infrastructural blueprint for Abia. The aim, according to the state, is to enhance safety, improve night-time economy, and modernize Aba into a 21st-century business hub.

As part of the event, a civic reception will be held in honour of President Tinubu at the Aba Township Stadium by 10:00 a.m. The Abia government has called on residents, business communities, town unions, youth groups, and women organizations to come out en masse to give the President a befitting reception.

The statement concluded with a note of appreciation to President Tinubu for honouring Abia with his presence, stressing that the renewed partnership between the Federal and State Government will further accelerate development in the South East.
