Prof Ibe Commiserates With Gov. Ikpeazu, Abia PDP on The Demise of Party Chairman

The Proprietor/Chancellor of Gregory University Uturu Prof Gregory Ibe, Ph.D, OFR, the Enyi Abia has once again commiserated with the Government of Abia State and the PDP family on the sudden death of Chief Johnson Onuigbo who until his death was the Chairman of the PDP State Caretaker Committee.

In a condolence letter addressed to the Executive Governor of Abia State, His Excellency, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu Ph.D and made available to AFNEWS, Professor Gregory Ibe had this to say;

"I have received with rude shock disturbing news of the unfortunate demise of the State Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of our great party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Johnson Onuigbo.It is therefore with hindsight of the unique personality and strategic socio-political relevance of the man fondly called 'Akinbod', not just to our state but to the entire Nigerian nation, that i write to commiserate with you my dear Governor."
According to Prof. Gregory in the letter " Without any iota of doubt, Chief Onuigbo will be remembered as a calculated and deft leader who used his position as Chairman to foster peace and harmony within the Abia political class, thereby creating in the process, a conducive environment for the successful conduct of governance without undue interferences, and free of rancour and acrimony."

" While therefore consoling you on this tragic loss of a stabilizing force in the body politic of our dear State, Abia, it is my earnest prayer that the good Lord will, in His soverign benevolence, grant the soul of our departed leader eternal rest, as well as release grace, first to his immediate family, the state and the entire nation, to bear this irreparable lose with fortitude and equanimity."

AFNEWS brought you a report of the unfortunate death of the Chairman of the Interim Caretaker Committee of the ruling-Peoples Democratic Party in Abia State, Chief Johnson Onuigbo who died on Monday evening at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Umuahia after a brief illness at FMC and (his corpse) has been deposited at the mortuary.ÔÇØ

According to many who worked closely with Late Chief Johnson Onuigbo, he was while alive a benevolent, humane, friendly and likeable person with scores of indigent students from his community under his scholarship scheme.Late Onuigbo was a one-time Transition Committee Chairman of Umuahia North Local Government Area and former Vice Chairman, PDP Abia Central Zone.He was elected the chairman of the party in 2016 and appointed the chairman of the caretaker committee on May 14, at the expiration of his four-year tenure
