The invitation was conveyed through a letter signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Tammy Danagogo, on Sunday. The letter, addressed to the Speaker of the House, Martin Amaewhule, indicates that the meeting will focus on several key issues, including the provision of a suitable venue for the Assembly's sittings, the settlement of all outstanding remuneration and allowances for Assembly members, the presentation of the 2025 budget, and other pressing matters concerning the development of the state.
Governor Fubara, in his communication, underscored the importance of unity and cooperation, stating that the meeting would serve as a platform to "chart the way forward in the interest of the good people of Rivers State." The move is seen as an attempt to ease the ongoing political crisis in the state following the Supreme Court's verdict.

The call for dialogue follows heightened tensions between the governor and the Assembly, which had recently issued a 48-hour ultimatum for Fubara to present the 2025 budget after the Supreme Court judgment did not rule in his favor. Observers believe that the outcome of this meeting could significantly impact the political stability of Rivers State and determine the next course of action for both the executive and legislative arms of government.
