Sacked Workers Demand N5m, Threaten To Kidnap Their Ex Boss
Three sacked workers of one Mr Ifenuga Olayinka, have been arrested by operatives of Ogun state police command for threatening to kidnap their ex boss and demanding N5million from him.

According to a statement released by the state police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi on Tuesday, the suspects; Peter Nse (24); Chukwuma Nwobodo (48), and Michael Umanah (30), were arrested following a complaint lodged at Igbeba divisional police headquarters by Mr. Olayinka.

Olayinka had received a text message from an unknown person who identified himself as "Killer Vagabond of AfricaÔÇØ ordering him to send N5m into a particular bank account or risk being kidnapped.

"In the said message, the author directed the complainant to pay the sum of N5 million into a bank account he sent to him or risk being kidnapped within the shortest possible time.

"Upon the report, the DPO Igbeba division, CSP Musiliu Doga, detailed his detectives to unravel those behind the devilish message.

"The detectives there and then embarked on technical and intelligence-based investigation which led them to Anambra State where two of the suspects namely Peter Nse and Chukwuma Nwobodo were arrested.

"Their arrest led the detectives to Ago- Iwoye where the third suspect Michael Umanah was apprehended.

"It was when they were brought before the complainant that he identified them as his former employees whom he laid off not quite long ago for certain misconduct.

"On interrogation, they all confessed to the commission of the crime and claimed to have made the attempt just because they were not happy as the complainant terminated their appointmentÔÇØ the police spokesperson said.

According to him, the state Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole, has directed that the suspects be transferred to the anti-kidnapping unit of the state Criminal Investigation Department for discreet investigation.
