Scouts Coordinated By Kenneth Ogbuehi From Europe Gives Abia Footballers Pass Mark

As is the trend during yuletide across most parts of the country, various competitions are staged just to foster unity amongst communities and engage the teeming, energetic youths, with mouth-watery incentives to cap it up for winners.

In South Eastern Nigeria a FIFA intermediary Kenneth Ogbuehi based in Spain in collaboration with Empire Football Academy painstakingly took the yearly soccer ritual to a whole new level by facilitating a possible talent raid by scouts from across Europe in the state.

Given the security challenges bedeviling the country, especially the South East region which has come under siege recently, one can attest how herculean a task this could prove, however, the city of Umuahia was agog with this competition and the presence of scouts from across Europe who certainly had one thing on their minds - harvesting potential Messi(s), Ronaldo(s) and Chukwueze (s).

This initiative came against the backdrop of the clarion call by the Abia State Government that much attention is given to sports development in the state by private and well-meaning individuals.

The scouts which were drawn from Portugal, Denmark, Spain, Austria, and Germany were impressed with what they saw during a 4-day event coordinated by Kenneth Ogbuehi the FIFA/ intermediary based in Spain as hosted by Empire Academy in collaboration with other invitees.

The occasion meant a lot to the athletes some of which saw this as a life-changing opportunity and had to be at their best throughout the program in the hope of leaving a mark on the observers. Some of the athletes had their friends, families, and neighbors present to watch the occasion live banishing any doubt that their compatriots can reach the heights of some of those from 'yesteryear' who are currently thriving in the sports.

The benefits for the athletes, the government, and the state are enormous as the program opened up opportunities for talents to gain the necessary exposure at that level & work their way into the minds of the spectators & scouts.

It created a positive PR for the state government after they provided an enabling environment through adequate security, part funding, & hospitality for all the guests.

Finally, the State prides itself on excellence in every area of human interest despite the challenges posed by instability in the country of Nigeria.
