SDP ABIA STATE ADOPTS PRESIDENT BUHARI AS ITS PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE

In an expanded State party executive caucus meeting attended by all the party chairmen from the seventeen LGAs of Abia State and their executives, the state party executive council unanimously adopted President Mohammadu Buhari after the motion moved by Hon. Chijioke Ozems, chairman SDP Isialangwa North LGA was subjected to an open vote.

Addressing the state party council, members present at the meeting, the state party chairman Hon. Chidi Nwosu said the National Executive Council (NEC) of the party had earlier adopted President Buhari and thanked members of the state executive council for ratifying and endorsing the decision of the National Executive Council of the party by also supporting and adopting President Mohammadu Buhari in his second term reelection bid.

Speaking further, Hon. Chidi Nwosu said he personally moved the motion at the just concluded National Executive Council meeting of SDP at Abuja, for the party to adopt President Buhari since the party does not have a presidential candidate recognized by INEC and also because of the comparative advantage adopting President Buhari will bring to the party.

He said that the National Executive Council after much deliberations and considerations decided to adopt Buhari as its presidential candidate because of the ongoing litigation crises between its two presidential candidates Mr Donald Duke and Prof. Jerry Gana, which has remained unresolved till date by the Supreme Court. He enjoined all the state executive members prsnt at the meeting to take the decision of the state executive council to other party faithfuls in their LGAs and ward and sensitize them on the need for the party to adopt and support President Mohammadu Buhari in the February 16th general election.

Contributing, Hon. Chijioke Ozems, chairman SDP Isialangwa North thanked the state party chairman Hon. Chidi Nwosu for his visionary leadership and promised to take the decision of the state executive council to party faithfuls in his LGA and wards.
