Distinguished Senator Mao Ohuabunwa who represented Abia North Senatorial District at the 8th assembly and has equally represented Arochukwu/Ohafia federal constituency has various prominent acts and laws to his credit.

Ohuabunwa is the first to represent Arochukwu/Ohafia federal constituency in the House of Representative from 1999-2007.

At the recently concluded primaries of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), in Abia state, Ohuabunwa won the ticket to represent Abia North Senatorial district ahead of the 2023 elections.

He polled a total of 135 votes out of 175 accredited voters to defeat his closest rival and member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia federal constituency, Honorable Uko Nkole, who secured 29 votes as declared by the PDP Abia State.
