The Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, called for a division after the consideration of the report and the majority of the senators supported Abdullahi's confirmation. Request for his confirmation was contained in a letter read on the floor during plenary by Lawan on Tuesday.
AFNews understands that Abdullahi's appointment as the acting Chief Judge is coming after the retirement of his predecessor, Hon.
