Senators Hit Akpabio For Passing Bills Without Formal Procedures | READ MORE
The senate President, Godswill Akpabio, has come under heavy fire for allegedly passing bills without formal readings in the House, nor members contributing.

Fronting the criticism during plenary on Thursday, Senator Ali Ndume (APC), representing Borno south district, lamented that Akpabio passes bills including money bills under two hours without prior notification nor contributions from other senators.

"You are just passing bills without prior notification, including money bills, you just pass bills within 2 hours without anyone's contribution. This is not good for Nigeria", Ndume said.

On his part, Senator Ogoshi Onawo, PDP, Nasarawa State, said;

Responding to the senators' concern, Akpabio stated;

"If the bills we are passing are good for the country, history will judge me right. I don't think we would come here to pass a bill that's not good for the interest of Nigerians.
