Send Your Suggestions On Super Eagles To NFF Ahead Of World Cup- Buhari Tells Nigerians

President Muhammadu Buhari has called on Nigerians to send their suggestions to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), to help them plan for a better outing in the forthcoming World Cup.

The President made this call on Monday, January 24, 2022 on his social media handle while commending the Super Eagles Squad for a tough fight they put up while in Cameroon for the AFCON 2022 match.

Recall that the Eagles were knocked out by Tunisia in a lone goal to nil on Sunday, January 23.

In his reaction to the defeat, the President said "even though the Super Eagles did not live up to our expectations in the AFCON match, they deserve commendation for the tough fight they put up."

Buhari said instead of criticism, Nigerians should encourage the players to bounce back and do better next time.

He added that he has 'directed the football authorities to undertake a critical assessment of the AFCON performance, to enable better outcomes in the future, starting with the forthcoming World Cup qualification matches. '

Even though the Super Eagles did not live up to our expectations in the AFCON match last night, they all, officials and players alike, deserve commendation for the tough fight they put up.
Indeed they gave everyone the confidence that they were up to it, and I am sure it was something they could have achieved. Nonetheless, we should not write them off.
