Fresh tension has engulfed Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State as indigenes of Amangwo community staged a peaceful protest at the Isiala Oboro headquarters of the local government today, November 5, 2025, demanding justice over the gruesome murder of one of their own, Mr. Solomon Ikuko.

According to information obtained by All Facts Newspaper, the demonstrators gathered at the Ikwuano Local Government Secretariat - where they registered their grievances at the office of the Mayor/Executive Chairman - calling on the Abia State Government and security agencies to ensure that Solomon's head and other missing body parts are recovered.
From a video sighted by All Facts Newspaper, the protesters, mostly youths and women, chanted solidarity songs, carrying placards demanding justice and accountability. Their chants echoed the pain of a community still reeling from a tragedy that has shocked Abia State.
The tragic case of Mr. Solomon Ikuko first came to public attention when his mother personally visited All Facts Newspaper earlier in October to report how her son was abducted by members of a disbanded vigilante group operating under the alleged supervision of his community's traditional ruler, Eze Karry Ogbonnaya Agwu.

Days after the report, Solomon's decomposing remains were discovered on October 27, 2025, in a shallow stream between Amangwo Umuigu and a neighboring community, following a search operation ordered by the Divisional Officer of the Abia State CID, Umuahia.

The shocking discovery triggered outrage, especially after reports emerged that the community's traditional ruler had earlier claimed in a WhatsApp group that "Solomon was not dead" and that his family was "feeding him secretly."
The community's protest is a direct response to what they described as "attempts to cover up the truth." They insist that justice must prevail and that every individual connected to the abduction and killing - including those allegedly shielded by influence or traditional authority - must face the law.

The Abia State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Umuahia, has intensified investigations into the killing, with seven suspects already in detention. Sources confirmed that the arrested individuals are all members of the disbanded vigilante group.
Security operatives have also been urged to extend their investigation to uncover the full extent of the conspiracy, given the inconsistencies in the statement made by the community's traditional ruler.
