Tension in Isuikwuato as Youths Halt Road Construction Over Lack of Drainage | WATCH VIDEO

The youths, citing the absence of drainages, insisted that the project must adhere to full specifications before further work could continue.

Following the standoff, the construction personnel were summoned to the palace of His Royal Majesty (HRM) Eze Faraday Mbachu Chinekwe JP, the Chairman of Isuikwuato LGA Traditional Rulers Advisory Council.

After deliberations, the contractor assured the monarch and the community that:

 The road specifications will be strictly followed, including the construction of proper drainage systems.

 Able-bodied persons from Obu na Ebere Nkuma who seek employment will be accommodated in the project.

 Hard-core materials excavated from the road will be used to fix bad spots leading into the community.

The intervention by Eze Mbachu diffused the situation, allowing work to resume on the road.

Following the agreement, the youths expressed gratitude to Eze Mbachu for his swift royal intervention, which ensured the community's concerns were addressed.

They also hailed Governor Alex Otti for his commitment to infrastructure development, pledging full support to both the governor and Isuikwuato LGA Mayor, Chinedu Ekeke.
