Terrorists Demand N10m To Release Dead Body Of Victim In Kaduna
Weeks after kidnapping one Mr Obadiah Ibrahim in Kaduna state, the abductors are yet to release the corpse of the victim who died while in captivity.

Ibrahim was kidnapped in October in Sabon Gaya in Kaduna on his way back from Abuja. They had initially demanded for N200million ransom from his family for his release but later cut down to N3million.

According to a family member, Kefas Obadiah, the terrorists took the N3million but refused to release the victim. They were told the money was for food and were asked to pay extra N15million.

However the situation twisted when the victim died in captivity. The terrorists are now requesting his family to pay N10million before his corpse would be released to them.

"My brother's name is Obadiah Ibrahim. He was kidnapped early October, the first week of October, in Sabon Gaya on his way back from Abuja to Kaduna.

"Although I was not the one communicating with the bandits, there was a negotiator. Earlier, the bandits demanded N200m and later settled for N3m plus.

"They said we should bring the money. After we gave them the ransom, they told us the money was for their food supplies, which got finished, and that we should go and bring N15 million.

"They later came down to N5 million and three motorbikes, and later collected one bike. After they collected a bike, we didn't hear from them again. We tried to communicate with them, but unfortunately we were unable to.

"Then, when the negotiator called them on Thursday, they said our brother was dead. We thought they were joking. When we continue, they threaten to track him and come for him if we do not stop calling their line.

"Ibrahim had died on Monday, and they informed us on Thursday. We asked for his corpse, and they said we should pay them N10m if we want his corpse; they'll not work for us free of charge".

"They said their own men were arrested by police, tied to a tree, and killed. So they also vent their anger on our brother because of what the police did to their brother" Kefas said.
