TRAGEDY: Governor Otti's Aide, Chief Nwaka Inem, Loses Wife - Mrs. Chidinma Nwaka Inem

The Abia State Government has been thrown into mourning following the death of Mrs. Chidinma Nwaka Inem, wife of Chief Nwaka O. Inem, the Special Adviser to Governor Alex Otti on Trade, Commerce and Industry.

Mrs. Inem, aged 52, was until her passing a respected Manager with Zenith Bank, Lagos State. She reportedly died on the night of Thursday, September 11, 2025, at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) after a brief illness.

Announcing the sad development, Chief Inem described his late wife as not only a pillar of strength but also a loving mother to their four children. In his words, "With gratitude to God Almighty who knows everything and total submission to His will, I announce the passage of my wife and mother of our four lovely children... May our Lord accept her soul for a peaceful rest in His bosom. Remember us in your prayers.ÔÇØ

The late Mrs. Inem was widely admired for her professionalism in the banking. Her death has been described as a huge loss to the Abia State, the business community, and the people who benefitted from her warmth and generosity.

Sympathizers have since begun trooping to the residence of the Inem family to commiserate with Chief Inem, who is fondly known as Enyi-Oha. Tributes have also poured in from friends, associates, and colleagues across the country.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by the family in due course.
