TRAGIC: How Siblings Sitting For NECO Exams, Others Were Killed In Oyo

Two siblings sitting for the ongoing National Examination Council (NECO) Examination, alongside three others, have been killed in a road accident involving a petrol tanker in Ibadan, Oyo state.

The tragic incident occurred on Monday, August 9 as the loaded petrol tanker lost control which reportedly occurred as a result of brake failure.

The tanker was said to have ran into a commercial taxi, killing passengers including the driver.

The tanker reportedly fell into a ditch afterwards around Celica area on the New Ife-Ibadan Road, in the Egbeda Local Government Area of Oyo State.

According to eyewitnesses, the accident happened at about 7am.

Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission g) in Oyo State, Uche Chukwurah, while responding to newsmen on the incident, said;

"Five persons lost their lives in the crash. Three male adults and two female adults died

"Preliminary investigation showed that the tanker suffered brake failure."
