TRAIN ATTACK: Nigerian Railway Clears Air On Accurate Number Of Passengers
The Nigerian Railway Corporation,NRC has cleared the air on the accurate number of passengers onboard the NRC AK9 Abuja-Kaduna train.

The rail vehicle enroute Kaduna was attacked by bandit terrorists, leaving scores injured and one dead.

Speaking on circulating diverse accounts of the actual number of persons on the train, the NRC through its Managing Director, Engr. Fidet Okhiria has made a clarification.

'' 398 passengers purchased tickets to travel on the NRC AK9 service, and 362 passengers actually boarded.

The entire seat capacity of the train in question is 840 passengers. Therefore, the figure of 970 being circulated cannot be correct.ÔÇØ

The MD stated that the corporation had 8 personnel and some security operatives attached to the train.

He went on to reveal every passenger is recognized via electronic validators linked to the central system.

Okhiria also explained that the train in question, the AK9 is usually not run at full capacity, adding the passengers on board can affirm his report.
