The Independent National Electoral Committee (INEC) has scrapped 74 political parties.

The Progressive People's Alliance (PPA) which was founded by the former governor of Abia state Orji Uzor Kalu and the United Progressive Party (UPP) also owned by Chekwas Okorie has been de-registered by INEC ahead of the 2023 general elections.
