ABIA GUBER ELECTION: Prof Uche Ikonne Is Sick, But...... - Ikpeazu Speaks | WATCH VIDEO
Following the deafening absence of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Professor Uche Ikonne, there have been various speculations in and outside the state.
Giving the true position of things in a special interview with Flo Fm, governor Okezie Ikpeazu, PhD, on Monday, January 16, 2023, confirmed that Professor Ikonne have been absent from political space because he is sick.

The governor however, assured that Ikonne was out of the hospital and is going through recovery process.
Ikpeazu stated that Ikonne's absence does not pose any threat to the PDP campaigns and its chances of winning the election, adding that he is confident that the party's candidate will be strong enough to make a return.

In his words;
"It is unfortunate that he is a little indisposed. Professor Ikonne is recovering gradually and progressively. He has left the hospital and is going through convalescence.
"I am sure he will be strong enough in the future to join. Be that as it may, PDP is a very strong party. No party is as strong as we are".
