UKOHA LAUDS IKPEAZU, WORLD BANK, OTHERS FOR REMEMBERING THE VULNERABLE GROUPS IN OKPO IHECHIOWA

Constituency in the Abia House of Assembly, Hon. Dr. Mike Ukoha has lauded the
Governor Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu and the World Bank for their efforts in putting
smiles in the faces of the Vulnerable Groups in Okpo Ihechiowa, Arochukwu
L.G.A.
Hon. Dr. Ukoha who gave the praises at a function in Okpo
Ihechiowa for the inspection of an ongoing Water Borehole project for the
Vulnerable Group of the community, which the World Bank, in conjunction with
the Abia State Agency for Community and Social Development Project {ABIA-CSDP}
are co-sponsoring, explained that with what the Governor has done so far in
touching the lives of Abians as a whole, posterity will be kind to him in his
developmental strides.
The Minority Whip advised the people of Okpo Ihechiowa to
ensure they protect the ongoing Water Borehole project in their area to enable
them reap bountifully of its benefits.

Speaking earlier at the occasion, the State Governor Dr.
Okezie Ikpeazu who was represented by the General Manager Abia State Agency for
Community and Social Development Project
{ABIA-CSDP}, Mr. Chinatu Njoku also lauded the World Bank and the State Government
for its prompt financial assistance which he said has helped in no small ways
in helping various Communities across the State in their areas of needs.
He explained that the State Government will never relent in
its partnership with the World Bank so as to continue to ameliorate the
challenges of the rural communities.

In their separate reactions, the Eze Ogo of Okpo Ihechiowa, Eze Okala and
the Women leader of the group who received a cheque on behalf of the women,
Mrs. Ukah thanked both the World Bank and the State Government for given out
the cheque which they said will help them in the project and prayed God to
bless them abundantly.

Correspondents reports that the Water Borehole project which
is estimated to cost about Four Million, Three Hundred and Forty Eight Thousand
Two Hundred and Eighty Six {4,348,286.00} will see the World Bank and the State
Government taking responsibility 95% of it which represents 4,130, 871.70,
while the expected community will pay 5% representing 217, 414.30.
