While applauding Otti's efforts, the people also highlighted challenges such as inadequate electricity supply and boundary disputes. They resolved to set up committees to proffer lasting solutions, while urging the council chairman to channel their concerns to the governor.
Analysts view the vote of confidence as more than an endorsement of Governor Otti's policies. Coming from a council historically divided along party lines, this show of unity is seen as a strategic repositioning of Ukwa East in Abia's political equation. With succession politics already shaping conversations in the South-East, the move sends a clear message that Ukwa East intends to play a decisive role in Abia's future governance.
