UPDATE: Umeh Kalu Grips Tight On Don Ubani, Norman Over Defamation | DETAILS +COURT DOCS ATTACHED
In fulfilment of his threat, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and former Commissioner for Justice cum Attorney General of Abia State, Chief Umeh Kalu, has filed a N500 million suit against Chief Don Ubani, a former deputy chief of staff to ex-Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia state over defamation of character.

The suit dated July 10, and marked FCT/HC/CV/6777/2023, was filed at the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja.

Chief Kalu is also seeking an unreserved apology from Ubani which must be published on two major daily newspapers and on his social media handle

Ubani who was also a former Commissioner for Information in the state, had on June 14, published the said libelous article titled:ÔÇØ What a demeaning unprofessional conduct by Ume Kalu, SANÔÇØ, on his Facebook page.
The writ of summons seen by ALL FACTS NEWSPAPER read in part;

"Don Ubani of Don Ubani Compound, Umu Iku Asa Ukwa West LGA, Abia state; you are hereby commanded that within thirty days after the service of this writ on you, inclusive of the day of such service, you do cause an appearance to be entered for you in an action at the suit of the above claimant.

Take notice that in default of your so doing, the claimant may proceed therein and judgement may be given in your absence".

Similarly, Chief Umeh Kalu in a suit no: FCT/HC/CV/6776/2023 filed before the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja, is seeking a N500,000,000 compensation against the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Chairman in Abia State, Obinna Don Norman over defamation of character.
Kalu is also seeking a court order mandating Don Norman to retract his Facebook publication titled; "Umeh Kalu's Mischief, Dent On Abia Messiahs" and publish an unreserved apology to him via two daily newspapers; Sun Newspaper and This Day Newspaper.
