Queen Elizabeth II: US Varsity Distances Itself From Nigerian-born Prof Over 'Offensive' Tweet

The management of U.S institution Carnegie Mellon University has distanced the education centre from an offensive tweets by Nigerian-born Professor, Uju Anya who works in its department of modern languages.

Prof. Uju had in a tweet wished the Queen "an agonizing painful death like the one she caused for millions of people,ÔÇØ and a "wretched womanÔÇØ and a "genocidal colonizer.ÔÇØ A tweet which had since been deleted by Twitter for violating its rules.

The tweet which sparked reactions on social media with many condemning it had the founder of Amazon Jeff Bezos tweet

"This is someone supposedly working to make the world better?ÔÇØ Mr Bezos said in a tweet. "I don't think so. Wow.ÔÇØ

A tweet from the institution reads; "We do not condone the offensive and objectionable messages posted by Uju Anya today on her personal social media account. Freedom of expression is core to the mission of higher education, however, the views she shared absolutely do not represent the values of the institution, nor the standards of discourse we seek to foster,ÔÇØ
