Super Eagles ace Victor Osimhen praised his team's performance in the victory against Liverpool, dubbing them the greatest team in the world.

The 26-year-old returned from injury to help his team to triumph over the Reds at Rams Park. He scored the only goal in the match, finding the back of the net in the 16th minute.
What Osimhen said
The Nigeria international converted a penalty mid-first-half, and Liverpool did not respond for the remainder of the encounter, confirming a famous victory.

After the match, an ecstatic Osimhen praised his team, referencing that they came into the game as underdogs, especially after the previous 5-1 defeat to Frankfurt.

"Congratulations to the team," he said, per Haberturk. "It was a very tough opponent. Many people didn't believe we would win, except for the people you see here. I've been away from the team, but for me, this is the greatest team in the world! It was a great win for Galatasaray and for me."

Many of the detracting analyses after Galatasaray splashed the cash to sign Osimhen posited that a deep Champions League run was the only justification for the outlay. Helping them secure victory over Liverpool is certainly a way to "show" his value.

Rams Park is usually special on big European nights, and they brought the energy against Liverpool. Osimhen shared his appreciation, and reiterated how their love attracted him to the club.

"The reason I came here was because of the fans. It's a great honor to have them support me like this. Thanks to them, I always play better. I love Galatasaray and the fans very much."
