[VIDEO] Discharged Soldier Ruth Ogunleye Demands Nigerian Army Publish Sxxual Harassment Investigation Outcome
Private Ruth Ogunleye, a discharged female soldier, has demanded that the Nigerian Army publish its findings on a probe into sexual harassment allegations she made against Colonel I.B. Abdulkareem, her superior.

On Tuesday night, Ogunleye posted a video on TikTok further accusing Abdulkareem, Colonel G.S. Ogor, and Brigadier General I.B. Solebo of harassing her.

In the video, she said, "I want to humbly request that the Nigerian Army publish the outcome of the investigation that led to my discharge. On January 9, 2024, I came on social media to complain about how I.B. Abdulkareem, Brigadier General I.B. Solebo, and Colonel G.S. Ogor harassed me.

"I mentioned how I was raped, how I was injected, put in a casket, how Abdulkareem pointed a gun at me, handcuffed me and kept me inside his office for days. I also want to beg the Nigerian Army to post the outcome of the investigation on all social media platforms to tell the world what led to my discharge."

Earlier on Tuesday, Onyema Nwachukwu, the Director of Army Public Relations, said the army had concluded its investigation and cleared Abdulkareem of any wrongdoing.

"The investigation adhered to established protocols, ensuring a fair and impartial process. Based on an objective evaluation of the facts, testimonies, and evidence, Colonel I.B. Abdulkareem was found not guilty of the allegations brought forward by ex-Private Ruth Ogunleye," Nwachukwu said during a press briefing.

He also said the National Hospital in Abuja evaluated Ogunleye and reported concerns about her mental well-being.

Undeterred, Ogunleye has requested the help of Uju Kenedy-Ohaneye, Minister of Women Affairs, to prosecute the matter.

FIJ called Nwachukwu for comments, but as of press time, he had not responded.
