Barely 48 hours to the governorship election, a stakeholder in Abia state and a member of the National Board of Trustees of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Chief BB Apugo, has beckoned on Abians to reject the People's Democratic Party PDP's quest to retain the seat of governance in the state by voting against the ruling PDP at the Saturday March 18, election.
Apugo while interacting with newsmen in Umuahia on Thursday, reminded Abians that the PDP has failed to bring the much desired development into Abia state for the past 24 years of being in power, but has continued to preside over the affairs of the state in a rented apartment.

Apugo called on Abians to go out en masse to their various polling units on Saturday and cast their votes for Dr. Alex Otti of the Labour Party to become the next governor of Abia state.

Speaking on Otti's qualities that influenced his endorsement for him, Apugo stated that the LP governorship candidate is a self made man who understands the rudiments of development and has the capacity to give Abia state a new face of democracy.

"Every Abian knows that we have suffered and we just prayed to live up till today in the hands of these evil people called PDP.
"Alex Otti has held a lot of trusted positions and he never failed. He successfully succeeded in handling them. He has gone far and wide, he knows the meaning of development" Apugo maintained.
He charged further;

"Come out and cast your votes for Labour Party; for Alex Otti like you did in the case of Peter Obi.

"With the current situation of Abia state, the only candidate capable of saving Abia is Alex Otti".

"Abia needs help. PDP should cover their face in shame for running the affairs of Abia from a rented apartment" the elder stateman said.

Apugo tasked INEC officials and security operatives to ensure that people vote peacefully and their votes count.
When asked if he doesn't fear APC sanctioning him for endorsing Alex Otti, Apugo noted that so far Abia state is concerned, his only objective is to get a good leader irrespective of party affiliation.
"I've stayed in Abia state for so many years. Nothing has been done, no development in my state; in my hometown, Umuahia Ibeku. As a member of the national board of trustees, national caucus, I have nothing to show" he added.
