In the buildup to the highly anticipated 2023 elections, former federal lawmaker, Dino Melaye has revealed how the President, Muhammadu Buhari plans to impose a President on Nigerians.

The former Red Chamber member's claim comes as a reaction to Buhari's comment asking the APC governors to support him in choosing his successor.

AFNews recalls Buhari met with the governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday in the nation's capital city, Abuja where he charged them to ensure a Presidential candidate that reflects all the values and virtues of the party is chosen at the forthcoming convention.

In a video on his Twitter space, the Senator alleged Buhari is orchestrating plans to impose his successor on Nigerians as he called for alertness.

The 48-year-old berated the President for using the word ''successor'' and not party flag bearer, maintaining it only establishes the fact Buhari is aiming at imposing the next president on Nigerians.

"Yesterday, the president made a statement that is unconstitutional and showed some inhumane tendencies. The president said the APC governors should support him to choose his successor. The president used the word successor and not flagbearer or candidate of the APC.''
