What Akpabio Gave Me That Made Me Support Him For Senate Presidency - Wike Reveals
Barely one week after Senator Godswill Akpabio was elected and sworn in as president of the 10th Senate, Nyesom Wike, the immediate past governor of Rivers State, has revealed that he supported the former because of his contribution to his campaigns in 2014 and 2015.

Wike while speaking on Sunday during a special thanksgiving service organized in his honour by his family at the St. Peters Deanery, Rumuepirikom, Obio-Akpor area of the state, revealed that Akpabio supported his governorship aspiration in 2015 and donated N200million to his campaign despite criticisms.

"When I was running in 2014 and 2015 he came out and supported me. He gave me N200m for that election. That is why I said one good turn deserves another. I supported him this time and I thank God he wonÔÇØ Wike said.

Responding, Akpabio claimed that the N200 million he gave to Wike in 2015 was not from the purse of Akwa Ibom, where he was the governor then.

The Senate President claimed that the money was from his savings from the telecom sector, where he was a managing director before becoming governor.
